About

Hi there! My name is Jamee Stover, and I'm an artist based out of Charleston, West Virginia. I've been cosplaying since 2008, and making my own costumes since around 2010. I love bringing ideas to life and seeing people smile!

My favorite things to make include historic fashion, realistic animal costume pieces, and costume/fashion that requires sculpting of some kind.

I attribute most of my inspiration to my mom and my sister. My mom taught me how to sew when I was young, around 8 years old. As time went on, my older sister, Sherry, introduced me to the nerdy world of anime and cosplay. As soon as I learned that people dress up outside of Halloween, I was hooked. I've always been drawing and designing, it truly runs in the family!

I started my small business, Lizard King Designs, on a small scale in 2015. In 2022, I decided to take the leap and try to make it my full time job.

In early 2025, I realized there was something about "Lizard King" that just wasn't me anymore. It was a nickname that I had way back in high school, and I was ready for something new. I wanted something fun that showed my love for creatures, had some sort of reference to Appalachia, and invoked a sense of space. After consulting friends to try and get some ideas, "Fossil Holler" was created! (thanks Vel!)
